Certification Pathways

The national Framework for the Certification of Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers requires certifying authorities to have a pathways process to recognise prior assessment from credible programs where teachers have demonstrated they already meet part of all of the Teacher Standards at the Highly Accomplished or Lead career stages. Teachers certified via a pathways approach are subject to national quality assurance processes.

The Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) have developed a process, as required under the national framework, and will be piloting it in 2024/2025.

Guidelines for providers and applicants are available, along with an application form. Eligible providers should contact the QCT for access to these resources, prior to submitting an application for assessment. Eligible providers include state government agencies, tertiary organisations, teacher employers and professional associations.

Please contact the QCT at to enquire further about our pathways process.
