2025 TEACHX Awards shortlist announced

Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) Board Chair, Emeritus Professor Wendy Patton, has congratulated the 78 outstanding teachers who have been shortlisted from this year’s TEACHX Awards nominations and will now be considered for the finalist round.

“This year’s TEACHX nominations reflect the breadth of contributions teachers make to support their students, colleagues and communities – from mentoring and professional growth to sports coaching and work on cultural projects,” Emeritus Professor Patton said.

“To be recognised from among 324 nominations is a remarkable achievement and a testament to these teachers’ profound impacts in schools and education settings across Queensland.

“To all the teachers who were nominated, and especially to those who have made it to the shortlist, thank you for your unwavering commitment to teaching. Your work not only shapes the future of your students but also strengthens the fabric of our communities.”

The judging panel will soon select 31 winners from the shortlist (one from the Excellence in Teacher Education category, and five winners from each of the other six categories), to receive awards at the TEACHX ceremony in Brisbane on Friday 31 October (World Teachers’ Day in Queensland).
