Proficient teachers meet the requirements for full teacher registration by achieving all seven Standards.

They create effective learning experiences and adapt their teaching to meet the needs of all students. They understand their students’ backgrounds and support diverse cultural, social and language needs. They create safe, positive, and inclusive classrooms where all students can participate and succeed.

Proficient teachers plan and deliver engaging learning programs that meet curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements. They use assessment, feedback and student results to monitor progress and improve learning. They also reflect on their teaching and make changes to better support student needs.

These teachers take responsibility for their own professional growth. They identify learning goals, seek feedback from colleagues and continue to develop their skills.

Proficient teachers work as part of a team. They collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with students, families and the wider community, and act professionally and ethically at all times.
