Teachers in Queensland are expected to uphold high standards of professional and ethical conduct.

High professional standards support quality teaching in Queensland. As trusted professionals, teachers are expected to uphold high standards of professional and ethical conduct. This is especially important for student safety, learning, and wellbeing.

The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST) include seven Standards that describe what teachers should know and be able to do.

The QCT is required to look into concerns and act if a teacher does not meet the required Standards and conduct.
