2024 QCT TEACHX Awards Terms and Conditions

  1. General conditions
    1. The Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time and to cancel, postpone or adjust the competition and/or the judging process at any time without notice or further recourse to the nominators or nominees.
    2. All Queensland registered teachers currently employed in a Queensland state or non-state school or an early childhood setting delivering the QCAA Kindergarten Learning Guideline or C&K Building Waterfalls kindergarten guideline are eligible to enter.
  2. Entry requirements
    1. The QCT TEACHX Awards 2024 nominations are open between early March and late June.
    2. Nominees must be registered teachers with the QCT and be currently employed in teaching duties or an administrative or leadership position in one of the following:
      1. a Queensland state school
      2. a Queensland non-state school
      3. a Queensland early childhood setting delivering the QCAA Kindergarten Learning Guideline or C&K Building Waterfalls kindergarten guideline.
    3. Nomination of teachers can only be made by Queensland registered teachers.
    4. Nominations must be endorsed by the nominee’s school principal or employer. Nominations that are not endorsed will be ineligible.
    5. Entries will be acknowledged by email.
    6. Personal contact information provided as part of entry will not be disclosed without consent for any other purpose unless required by law.
    7. By submitting an entry, the nominator and nominee agree to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined in this document.
    8. Entries which include offensive or discriminatory information against an individual, a group of people or an organisation will be ineligible.
    9. Entries which include profanities will be ineligible.
  3. Judging and prizes
    1. All nominations will be judged by a QCT appointed external panel. The panel will consider information included on the nomination form and any relevant supporting documents.
    2. Every eligible and approved entry will be considered for judging.
    3. Judges will provide recommendation to the QCT Board Chair and Director for final decisions.
    4. The Board Chair and Director’s decisions will be deemed final and appeals will not be considered.
    5. Contact information may be used for administration and media purposes.
    6. Award recipients may be notified by the QCT and interviewed for media purposes.
    7. Winners will be announced at the TEACHX Awards ceremony on Thursday 24 October 2024 in Brisbane.
  4. Force majeure
    1. If for any reason the competition or judging process for the awards is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the QCT), which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the awards, the QCT reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition and/or the voting. The QCT reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the voting process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the awards.
  5. Privacy notice
    1. Information collected from nominees and nominators is in accordance with the QCT’s function of promoting the teaching profession to the public – see section 232 of the Education (Queensland College of Teachers) Act 2005.
    2. The information will be accessed by QCT staff and the judging panel.
    3. Information received about nominees may be published on the QCT’s website and/or Teacher Stories website, on social media or in external publications.
    4. Details of shortlisted nominees may be listed on the QCT Teacher Stories website.
    5. Some of the information supplied by a nominee, including the nominee’s name and school details may be given to media agencies for the purpose of promoting the teaching profession to the public and to contractors such as graphic designers and printers.
    6. Personal information will not be given to any other person or agency unless the nominee has given the QCT permission, or as the QCT is required by law to do so.
  6. Consent
    1. In entering for the QCT TEACHX Awards 2024, a nominee and/or nominator consent to the QCT TEACHX Awards 2024 Terms and Conditions.
    2. Consent continues unless revoked in writing to the Director, QCT.
    3. Any revocation of consent will be conditional on TEACHX Awards contractual obligations entered into by the QCT prior to the consent being revoked.
