Research grants for teachers

The QCT awards a small number of grants annually to practising Queensland teachers. The grants’ purpose is to assist teachers to present their research at key Australian education conferences such as Australian Teacher Education Association (ATEA), Australian Curriculum Studies Association (ACSA) and Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE).    

Applications open on 1 January each year and must be submitted by 30 April.

QCT TEACHX Awards

The QCT’s TEACHX Awards recognise and reward teachers in all school sectors and in kindergarten, across six categories:

  • Excellence in Beginning to Teach
  • Excellence in Teaching
  • Innovation in Teaching
  • Excellent Leadership in Teaching and Learning
  • Outstanding Contribution to School Community
  • Outstanding Contribution to Teaching.

Other activities

World Teachers’ Day

World Teachers’ Day is held annually on the last Friday in October (Australia). It is an international day of celebration and a chance for the community to demonstrate their appreciation for the contribution teachers have made.

QCT eNews is sent every 4-6 weeks in term time. It contains recent publications, reports on QCT activities and teacher registration information.
