John has dedicated almost 50 years to teaching and it’s not hard to see why teachers and students of both Gympie State High School and Cooloola Christian College are left in awe after being taught by, or working with, John. Despite retiring in 1996 and celebrating his 70th birthday this year, John has continued to accept many teaching contracts. Through these he has assisted in setting up a Science Department and in writing junior and senior science programs, and has mentored student and novice teachers. John’s commitment and enthusiasm has seen student participation in his subjects increase as he continues to impart his wealth of knowledge to eager students.
