Mark’s appointment in the School is as LEGO Technology Coordinator. His unique use of LEGO as a teaching tool has seen him develop detailed programs for students that encompass major engineering areas as well as many science, technology and maths principles. Mark has recognised that kinaesthetic tasks suit his students’ learning style, particularly those with an indigenous heritage. Since developing his LEGO program, Mark has worked with QUT to support Chinese teachers in the conceptualisation of LEGO activities. QUT’s Head of School of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education, Professor Kar-Tin Lee, has named Mark as a “cutting edge leader in the LEGO and robotics field”.
