As chair of the Gold Coast District Youth Achievement Plan, Fran developed a number of “Fresh Start” off-campus programs to enable disengaged youth to re-engage in education. Her determination to provide educational opportunities for disengaged youth saw the creation of “Annexe” – an alternative education program for students who display significant anti-social behaviours. As Vice President of the Gold Coast Secondary Principals Alliance, Fran has made fellow principals accountable for re-enrolling disengaged youth back into their schools following graduation from off-campus programs. Fran provides significant support and advice for her fellow principals across Queensland and also acts as a mentor to many new principals across the state.
