Sasha took the primary leadership role in implementing the Embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Perceptions (EATSIP) initiative, working with her colleagues, students and the Indigenous community to develop curriculum and raise awareness for teachers and support staff. S asha worked hard to gain the trust of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and helped design ways to improve their confidence to organise and speak at their own cultural events. This work and the relationships she forged led to symbolic whole-school events with participation from the wider community. Sasha has now passed the torch to another staff member who, after a period of mentoring, has enthusiastically continued on the path set by Sasha.
