Professional Development Activities
This section of our website (see links below) makes available three online professional development resources. Each resource involves the viewing of a video delivered by a highly qualified education professional, and the completion of a set of related activities. You will need to login to your QCT online services account to access the first two resources. If you do not know your username and/or password:
- Your username is your QCT teacher registration number.
- To obtain your password, please go to the forgot password page or contact us.
These activities can contribute to your continuing professional development as required under the Continuing Professional Development Framework (CPD Framework) of the QCT. You must be mindful however that completion of these professional development activities will form only a part of your overall CPD requirements.
Your CPD must have regard to the Professional Standards for Queensland Teachers, involve a range of activities, and demonstrate a balance across the following areas:
- employer directed and supported CPD
- school supported CPD
- individually identified CPD;
The balance involves a degree of flexibility and for Supply Teachers may involve a greater emphasis on individually identified activities
Completion of these QCT online CPD resources will form part of the individually identified CPD component.
It is important that you record your responses to the related activities. These responses will be evidence of engagement in these professional development resources. It is not sufficient to simply record the viewing of the video as a CPD activity. For viewing and completion of the associated activities, participants may record up to 2 hours for Resource One (Behaviour Management), up to 3 hours for Resource Two (Teacher Wellbeing) and up to 3 hours for Resource Three (Child Protection: Reporting suspected child abuse and neglect).
Notes and response sheets should be filed in your personal portfolio for future reference. In the event of an audit by QCT in relation to the CPD requirements, this documentation will be required.
