Applying for Teacher Registration
Information for new applicants:
There are two categories of teacher registration in Queensland, provisional registration and full registration. Applicants registered in other Australian states and territories or New Zealand may choose to apply under the mutual recognition provision.
To apply for teacher registration, new applicants need to complete the online Application for Teacher Registration form or the Application for Teacher Registration Under Mutual Recognition form.

Delays may occur in the processing of applications if the required information and documentation is not provided.
Applicants will need to meet the requirements of registration. Applicants who do not meet the academic requirements may be eligible to apply under s8(1)(a)(ii) and s9(1)(a)(ii) of the Education Queensland (Queensland College of Teachers) Act 2005.

If you have been previously registered or held a permission to teach in Queensland and wish to reapply for registration please download and complete the following form and submit it to the QCT:

Once you have applied for registration or have been registered you are able to log on at any time to:
- View and update your QCT profile information
- View and update your QCT teaching status and school
- Pay your fees online (and find all the information needed to pay your fees)
