Surrender of Registration or Permission to Teach
If you wish to surrender your QCT registration or Permission to Teach, please return your certificate of registration or Permission to Teach and
your registration card (if applicable) to the QCT in addition to sending a letter or email to
Include in the email or letter your:
- registration number;
- full name; and
- date of birth.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Maintaining your registration
If you do not maintain your registration as a teacher in Queensland:
- you will not be entitled to seek employment as a classroom teacher in any state or non-state school in Queensland
- if you are offered employment as a teacher while you are unregistered, you should allow at least 4 weeks for processing a reapplication; you will not be able to commence teaching until the reapplication has been approved
- you will be required to pay the fee for reapplication
- any reapplication for registration from 2008 will be subject to completion of a new application form and a full reassessment of your qualifications and suitability to teach.
