Research Plan
Each year the QCT develops a Research Plan, which takes into account emerging issues and changing priorities in education, policy and practice related to the functions of the QCT. The QCT research plan outlines the purpose and scope, underpinning principles and criteria for QCT research. Research guidelines and standardised selection criteria have been developed to guide and ensure consistency in the tendering and selection processes.
The QCT Research Plan responds to priorities identified by the QCT and its key stakeholders that align with the QCT Strategic Plan and position the work of the QCT to both lead and complement state and national initiatives by engaging in collaborative research for the benefit of a range of stakeholders.
The QCT aims to ensure that research activities undertaken are of high quality, are of strategic priority, avoid duplication of existing knowledge, and are shared with other key stakeholders. The Research Plan development has been guided by the following questions:
- To what extent is the research topic likely to produce high quality evidence-based research leading to sound and innovative policies and practices related to QCT functions?
- To what extent is the research likely to contribute to a new (or build on an existing) knowledge base that is highly relevant to the expectations and professional engagement of teachers?
- To what extent is the research likely to promote and/or support an inclusive collegial and collaborative inquiry approach positioned within a state, national and international context?
The QCT is committed to building collaborative and collegial partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the best use is made of existing knowledge and research funding, with outcomes benefiting multiple stakeholders.
