Professional Practice and Conduct Committee
The Professional Practice and Conduct Committee (PP&C Committee) is a disciplinary committee established by the QCT. Members of the PP&C Committee are appointed by the Board.
The QCT Board has delegated to the PP&C Committee the authority to determine applicant's for registration or permission to teach suitability to teach.
The PP&C Committee has also been delegated the responsibility of reviewing the Director, QCT decision to refuse to deal with a complaint against a teacher.
The role of the Professional Practice and Conduct Committee in relation to disciplinary matters is to:
- receive reports from disciplinary investigations authorised by the QCT
- conduct disciplinary proceedings to hear and decide disciplinary matters referred to it by the QCT where minor disciplinary action is likely to be appropriate
- authorise an investigation if it believes that further information is required before it can hold a hearing and decide on a disciplinary matter
- refer a matter to the Teachers Disciplinary Committee if it believes that serious disciplinary action should be taken against the teacher
