Codes of Practice
The QCT may develop Codes of practice to provide guidance about the professional conduct or practice of teachers.
When developing and amending a code of practice the QCT must:
- consult with representative entities eg. registered teachers, employing authorities, unions and parent associations
- have the code of practice approved by the Minister of Education, Training and the Arts; and
- ensure approved teachers are notified of approval and/or amendment
A code of practice may be used in disciplinary proceedings to provide evidence of professional conduct or practice for the teaching profession.
