Code of Ethics for Teachers in Queensland
The teaching profession expects high standards of ethical behaviour from its members.
To support this expectation the QCT has developed a Code of Ethics for Teachers in Queensland which outlines the professional conduct and behaviour required of approved teachers in Queensland.
The Code was approved by the Minister for Education, Training and the Arts, Mr Rod Welford in December 2008.
It outlines the expected behaviour and conduct using six values which underpin the profession: integrity, dignity, responsibility, respect, justice and care.
The QCT hopes approved teachers will use the code along with employer codes/policies and other professional codes to guide their professional conduct and behaviour.
