Professional Standards

Responsibilities of the Professional Standards Unit include:

• Registration of teachers;
• Renewal of teachers' registration;
• Advising teachers on returning to teaching requirements;
• Preservice teacher education program approvals;
• Setting and reviewing standards for registration, renewal, preservice programs and returning to teaching programs; and
• Research, data compilation and reporting.
