Internal Review Committee
The Internal Review Committee (the IRC) is a review committee established by the QCT Board. Membership of the IRC includes:
- two QCT Board members (chair and deputy chair)
- two teacher-employer nominees
- two teacher union nominees
- two teacher educators
- two practising teachers
- a community/parent nominee
- a QCT staff member nominated by Director, QCT
An application should be made to the Internal Review Committee for a review of the following decisions:
- QCT’s decision to grant provisional registration to an applicant who applied for full registration (made under s.21(2)(b) of the Act)
- QCT’s decision not to grant application for registration or permission to teach on the basis that the applicant did not meet the eligibility requirements relevant to professional practice (made under s.21(3)(a) of the Act)
- QCT’s decision not to grant full registration to holder of provisional registration (made under s. 25(1)(b) of the Act)
- QCT’s decision not to renew full registration or permission to teach on the basis that the applicant did not meet the eligibility requirements relevant to professional practice (made under s.33(2))
- QCT’s decision not to cancel a condition of registration or permission to teach (made under s. 43(5) of the Act)
- QCT’s decision to suspend or cancel registration or permission to teach for failure to comply with condition (47(3)(a) of the Act)
- QCT’s decision to refuse to approve a preservice teacher education program (made under s. 236(5) of the Act)
- QCT’s decision not to grant application for registration or permission to teach on the basis that the applicant did not meet the eligibility requirement relevant to suitability to teach (made under s.21(3)(a) of the Act)
- QCT’s decision not to renew full registration or permission to teach on the basis that the applicant did not meet the eligibility requirement relevant to suitability to teach (made under s.33(2))
- QCT’s decision to take particular action in relation to a condition of registration or permission to teach following a review (made under s.41(3) of the Act)
- Professional Practice and Conduct Committee’s decision to take particular disciplinary action (made under s.123(4)(a) of the Act)
