Approved Returning to Teaching Programs
The approved programs vary in delivery mode and cost. Participants should choose a program that best suits their individual needs.
1. Australian Catholic University - Return to Teaching in Schools
This on-line course delivered over a 6 week period is designed to meet the QCT requirement for all teachers to maintain currency in the skills, knowledge and practices required for teaching in Queensland schools. The course is appropriate for teachers across the early childhood, primary and secondary levels of schooling. For details including costs and how to register:

2. Department of Education and Training - Restart Teaching
This program is a fully facilitated online course which has been developed for Education Queensland teachers who do not meet recency of practice requirements. On completion, teachers will receive a certificate of completion and their Smart Classrooms ICT certificate.

3. Griffith University - Recommencing Teaching
This is a one-unit semester subject (10CP) completed through online mode. The course requires that the participant enrol in a Graduate Certificate Education Studies or Masters Education Studies but it can be completed as a single stand alone unit. The program can be commenced at the beginning of a year or mid-year.

4. Teacher Training Australia - Return to Teaching
This face-face course covers the content specified by QCT. It is practical, linked to current research and builds on the diversity of participants. The 4 presenters are experienced, qualified educators. Courses may be offered over 6 Saturdays or in school holidays. Participants who wish to apply for credit towards a UQ Masters degree will be required to complete an additional assignment.
