Why do teachers have to renew their registration?
Renewal recognises, acknowledges and demonstrates that teachers maintain high standards of professional practice and conduct.
Requiring registrants to renew their registration on a periodic basis and to demonstrate that they continue to meet registration criteria is a means of achieving one of the main purposes of professional registration, i.e. to ensure that those registered continue to be suitable persons to work with children and remain competent throughout their careers.
